The introduction of pottery
The craft of pottery spread to Finland around 4200 BC. Experts regard this period of change as marking the beginning of the Neolithic, or later stone age. It has been suggested that pottery was adopted as seal-hunting grew in importance and better containers were needed for storing the fat and blubber.
